Brian Quinn is the Principal Lawyer and Director of Intercept Law, with substantial experience across criminal law and family law. He is known for his measured judgement, strategic focus and ability to guide clients through difficult and often high-stakes matters with clarity and confidence.
Brian advises and represents clients in a broad range of criminal and family law proceedings, including matters involving serious allegations, complex parenting disputes, family violence issues and contested litigation. His practice is defined by careful preparation, direct advice and a strong focus on practical outcomes.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England, completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice following practical legal training with the Department of Public Prosecutions, and later completed both a Master of Laws and a Master of Applied Law (Family Law). Brian’s academic background reflects a sustained commitment to professional excellence and technical rigour.
Before establishing his own practice on the Central Coast, Brian practised in a regional firm in Bathurst, where he developed broad experience across a range of legal matters. In 2014, he became the Principal Lawyer and Director of Intercept Law.
Brian regularly appears in the Local Court, District Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including in Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle. He is experienced in conducting matters from early advice and negotiation through to defended hearings and final determination, and is valued by clients for his ability to identify the real issues quickly and address them with precision.
In criminal law matters, Brian acts for clients facing charges of varying seriousness and complexity, providing clear advice, careful case analysis and strong representation throughout the court process. In family law matters, he assists clients in parenting and related disputes that often involve heightened conflict, urgent risk issues and complex factual histories. His approach remains steady, pragmatic and outcome-oriented.
Brian has also been appointed as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, representing the interests of children in parenting proceedings. That work reflects his capacity to approach sensitive matters with care, objectivity and a close focus on the issues that bear most directly on a child’s welfare.

Claudine Lopez Quinn is a Senior Associate at Intercept Law with more than 30 years of experience in the legal profession. She is a highly regarded family lawyer known for her depth of experience, judgement and ability to guide clients through complex and deeply personal disputes with clarity, discretion and care.
Claudine practises primarily in family law, with a strong focus on parenting and property matters. She advises clients at every stage of a dispute, from early strategic advice and negotiated resolution through to contested litigation and final hearing. Her approach is measured, client-focused and outcome-driven, with particular emphasis on protecting her clients’ long-term interests while pursuing practical and effective resolutions.
Claudine has particular experience in sensitive and highly complex domestic violence matters, where careful advice, empathy and a thorough understanding of risk are essential. Claudine is recognised for the compassionate and steady manner in which she supports clients facing family violence allegations, safety concerns and high-conflict parenting disputes. Claudine understands the significant emotional and legal pressures these matters place on individuals and families, and works to ensure her clients feel supported, informed and confidently represented throughout the process.
Having commenced her career as a paralegal in prominent Sydney and Central Coast firms, Claudine brings to her practice a rare combination of technical knowledge, practical insight and genuine understanding of the challenges clients face during family breakdown. Claudine is valued for her professionalism, empathy and ability to deliver clear, confident advice in matters that are often both emotionally and legally complex.
Claudine holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2021. In further recognition of her commitment to excellence in family law, she completed a Master of Applied Law (Family Law) in November 2023.
Claudine appears regularly in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including in the Newcastle, Sydney and Parramatta registries, and has extensive experience assisting clients in both urgent and long-running family law proceedings. She is experienced in preparing and conducting matters through to final hearing where necessary, and approaches each case with careful preparation, strategic focus and strong advocacy.
At the same time, Claudine is committed to resolving disputes as efficiently and constructively as circumstances allow. Wherever it is appropriate to do so, she works to achieve favourable outcomes through negotiation, settlement and dispute resolution before matters proceed to a final hearing. Her focus is always on securing outcomes that are practical, sound and in her clients’ best interests, while reducing unnecessary conflict and cost wherever possible.
Claudine is also an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, reflecting her commitment to sophisticated dispute resolution and child-focused outcomes. She is qualified to facilitate mediation in a broad range of family law matters, including parenting and property disputes, and is authorised to issue section 60I certificates where required. Her work in this area reflects a strong belief that, where appropriate, carefully managed resolution processes can spare families unnecessary conflict and lead to more durable outcomes.
In addition to her family law practice, Claudine has broader experience in criminal law, estates, conveyancing, wills, powers of attorney and general litigation.
