Intercept Law was established in 2002. The lawyers at Intercept Law have the expertise and knowledge to assist clients in understanding legal outcomes in a professional and accurate manner.

Brian Quinn brings a distinguished background to his legal practice, underpinned by over two decades of service with the New South Wales Police Force. During his tenure, Brian served as a detective in the Homicide Unit (South Region), where he was involved in several high-profile investigations, including the Backpacker inquiry and the disappearance of Christopher Flannery
. This extensive investigative experience has endowed Brian with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, which have proven invaluable in his subsequent career as a criminal lawyer.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England (2004), and completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2005 following practical legal training with the Department of Public Prosecutions. He further advanced his legal expertise by obtaining a Master of Laws in 2007 and a Master of Applied Law (Family Law) in 2010.
Brian commenced his legal practice in a regional firm in Bathurst before relocating to the Central Coast, where he established his own private practice. In 2014, he became the Principal Lawyer and Director of Intercept Law. Brian’s comprehensive experience in both criminal and family law enables him to provide clients with clear, concise, and strategic legal advice, even in the most complex matters.
Brian regularly appears before the Local and District Courts, as well as the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Sydney, Parramatta, and Newcastle), representing clients in a broad spectrum of criminal and family law disputes. Brian has also been appointed as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, advocating for the best interests of children in challenging parenting matters with compassion and professionalism.
Brian’s pragmatic and direct approach ensures that clients of Intercept Law receive detailed, realistic, and practical legal advice, empowering them to navigate complex legal issues and achieve positive outcomes.
Claudine Lopez Quinn
Senior Associate Lawyer

Claudine’s career in law initially started as a paralegal with over 30 years’ experience within large Sydney and Central Coast legal firms. Claudine has significant experience in family law, criminal law, estates, conveyancing, wills, powers of attorney including general litigation matters.
Claudine completed her Bachelor of Laws degree through University of New England in 2021. Claudine was awarded her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law and admitted to the Supreme Court and High Court of Australia in April 2021. Claudine completed her Master of Applied Law (Family Law) in November 2023.
Claudine is committed to ensuring Intercept Law clients are provided with the most up to date family law advice and ensuring they are supported during the most stressful times. Whilst Claudine regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Newcastle, Sydney and Parramatta jurisdictions) she has a great success rate with settling matters quickly and effectively through dispute resolution services.
Claudine has experience in criminal law matters (apprehended violence orders, traffic offences) and attends the Local and District Courts including representing clients in trials and appeals achieving the best possible outcomes.
I am proud to be an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). This accreditation demonstrates my expertise and commitment to assisting families in resolving disputes amicably and efficiently, without the need for court intervention.
As an FDRP, I am qualified to facilitate mediation in a wide range of family law matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, and other family-related disputes. My role is to provide a safe, impartial, and confidential environment where all parties can communicate openly, explore options, and work towards mutually acceptable agreements.
Accreditation as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner requires rigorous training, ongoing professional development, and adherence to strict ethical and professional standards. I am authorised to issue section 60I certificates, which are required before most parenting matters can proceed to court.
